Introduction

  • To supervise and coordinate day-to-day dredging, reclamation, marine, and port construction activities at the project site, ensuring that work is executed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with project specifications, quality standards, environmental requirements, and schedule commitments.

What are you going to do 

  • Supervise daily dredging, reclamation, breakwater, quay wall, revetment, jetty, and marine construction activities.
  • Monitor contractor, subcontractor, and workforce performance to ensure compliance with project plans.
  • Coordinate the deployment and utilization of dredgers, barges, tugs, survey vessels, and support marine equipment.
  • Ensure work is executed according to approved drawings, specifications, and method statements.
  • Track dredging production rates, including verifying dredging depths, excavation quantities, disposal activities, land reclamation levels and progress against project targets.
  • Identify construction constraints and recommend corrective actions.
  • Ensure strict compliance with project HSE policies and procedures and report unsafe conditions and ensure timely implementation of corrective measures.
  • Ensure inspection and test plans (ITPs) are implemented effectively to ensure compliance with approved quality standards and assist in punch list preparation and closure.
  • Verify dredging volumes and completed quantities, coordinating with surveyors for hydrographic and topographic surveys.
  • Prepare daily site reports detailing workforce, equipment utilization, production, weather conditions, and progress.

Essential skills and knowledge 

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Marine Engineering, Construction Engineering, or related discipline.
  • 8 years of experience in dredging, marine works, reclamation, or port construction projects.
  • Experience with major dredging equipment such as:
    • Cutter Suction Dredgers (CSD)
    • Trailing Suction Hopper Dredgers (TSHD)
    • Backhoe Dredgers
    • Split Hopper Barges
    • Support and survey vessels
  • Experience working with EPC, marine contractors, or port authorities.
  • Experience in Middle East will be an added advantage.
  • Deep knowledge of Dredging operations and marine construction methods, Hydrographic surveys and dredging quantity calculations.
  • Good mediation skills include conflict resolution, problem-solving, creative thinking, influencing and empathy.
  • Leadership skills, and able to cope with excessive workload.
  • Strong teamwork, facilitation, with the ability to communicate and interact at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to work with diverse cultures.
  • Team player who can effectively collaborate within Project Teams and with external parties.
  • Able to identify and anlyze complex issues and provide recommendations.
  • Establishes and sustains credibility with peers, subordinates and supervisors.
