Introduction

On behalf ofour client, one of the world’s great energy production corporations, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Completions Engineer to join their Drilling team for a 12-month contract in Perth.

This role offers a competitive daily rate and the unique opportunity to apply your completion engineering expertise to cutting-edge New Field and CCS projects.

What are you going to do 

Occupational Health and Safety:

  • Conduct all activities safely and efficiently in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Ensure personnel welfare and asset and environmental protection.

Technical Expertise:

  • Extensive completion engineering experience within a project development framework.
  • Proven track record in subsea completion engineering for oil and high rate gas developments.
  • Demonstrable experience in the selection and application of completion equipment technology.
  • Expertise in CCS completion engineering and related technologies.
  • Good understanding of subsea engineering and production systems.
  • Experience with well integrity management and testing.
  • Proficiency in completion-related software packages (Landmarks Wellcat, Wellplan, PROSPER, pipeSIM, OLGA).

Drilling Engineering:

  • Basic understanding of drilling principles and key completion interfaces.

Compliance:

  • Basic understanding of NOPSEMA regulatory framework and well operations management.

Risk Management:

  • Experience in formal safety assessments (HAZID, HAZOPS) and operational risk assessments.

Financial Management:

  • Experience in contract management and budget development.

Geology and Geophysics:

  • Basic understanding of geological and geophysical factors influencing completion design.

Essential skills and knowledge 

  • Appropriate engineering or science degree, or a demonstratable level of experience-based competence and industry training.
  • Extensive experience in Oil and Gas Drilling Industry and completion engineering experience with an operator and with experience working on a CCS project.
  • Extensive technical understanding of completion design.
  • Safety management skills.
  • Working knowledge of Industry Standards such as API, ISO, etc.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Logical mind with a practical approach to problem-solving and a drive to see things through to completion.
  • Ability to interact with operations teams and management at all levels.
  • Willingness to mentor and share knowledge.
