Our client, a respected organization in the Oil and Gas sector, is seeking a skilled and dedicated Shift Supervisor- Mechanical Maintenance to lead their dynamic team in Fujairah, U.A.E. This permanent position is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to an industrial environment that values precision, coordination, and technical expertise. As part of our client's team, you will play a critical role in maintaining and supervising operations, ensuring optimal performance of heavy industrial machinery and technical workshops.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintenance Supervision: Lead the mechanical team in the repair and maintenance of heavy industrial machinery including crushers, conveyors, and curing ovens.
  • Workshop Management: Oversee the fabrication and machining activities in the workshop to ensure the lathe operators and welders support the production needs.
  • Plumbing and Piping: Manage the plumbing team to ensure all water, air, and chemical piping systems are leak free and operational.
  • Vehicle Maintenance: Supervise the auto mechanics to ensure the factory fleet and material handling equipment are serviced and repaired promptly.
  • Oracle EBS Utilization: Log all mechanical work orders and manage spare part requisitions for the mechanical department within the Oracle E-Business Suite.
  • Fault Diagnosis: Lead the team in troubleshooting vibration, alignment, and hydraulic issues to prevent extended production downtime.
  • Resource Allocation: Assign specific technical tasks to the appropriate trade specialists based on the daily maintenance schedule provided by HOD Mechanical.
  • Quality Control: Inspect all completed mechanical repairs and fabricated parts to ensure they meet the factory's technical specifications.
  • Industrial operational environment requiring active presence on the factory floor and in the various technical workshops.
  • Technically demanding role that involves supervising high precision machining as well as heavy duty mechanical repairs.
  • Staff shift schedule requiring the supervisor to coordinate a large multicultural workforce across multiple mechanical disciplines.

Essential skills and knowledge 

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical discipline.
  • Minimum 5 to 8 years of experience in industrial mechanical maintenance with at least 2 years in a leadership role within a factory.
  • Strong knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, welding standards, lathe operations, and internal combustion engines.
  • Proficiency in using Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS) for maintenance tracking and material management.
  • Proven ability to manage a large group of 20 to 30 technicians with diverse skills such as welding and machining.
  • Professional English proficiency; ability to communicate clearly in Hindi or Urdu is required to lead the workforce.
  • Excellent problem solving skills for mechanical failures and the ability to read complex engineering drawings and blueprints.
