We are recruiting a Senior Designer to support large-scale offshore energy projects delivered by a global leader in deepwater ocean infrastructure. The organization operates worldwide, delivering complex, high-value projects such as FPSOs, floating production systems and offshore infrastructure for the Oil & Gas and energy transition sectors.
Location: Rotterdam, Netherlands
Duration: 12 Months (renewable)
Key responsibilities
* Select appropriate design methods, tools and procedures and execute design activities within the defined scope. * Produce clear and accurate design deliverables that can be correctly interpreted by engineers, designers and project stakeholders.
* Collaborate closely with engineers, designers and lead designers to ensure design intent, resolve design conflicts and manage interfaces. * Plan and complete assigned design activities within agreed schedules, understanding dependencies and project milestones.
* Identify design issues early and escalate unresolved matters to the Lead Designer or Engineer to minimise delivery risks. * Apply lessons learned and assess the impact of changes across systems and project boundaries.
* Coordinate with package engineers to support timely, high-quality review of vendor documentation. * Start leading designers on assigned scopes of work and act as Lead Designer where required.
Requirements:
* Associate's or bachelor's degree in engineering, design or a related discipline. * 5 to 10 years of experience in the Oil & Gas or offshore energy industry.
* Strong experience with engineering design and calculation tools. * Proven background in detailed design, package engineering and manufacturing support.
* Experience with plant and FPSO layouts, structural topsides and system interfaces. * Strong analytical, planning and coordination skills.
* Working knowledge of safety, environmental and human factors engineering principles.
