Introduction

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Underground Mine Geologist to join a producing gold operation. You will support safe and efficient mining through strong geological interpretation, development and production support. Working closely with the Geology Superintendent, Mining Engineers and Underground teams, you will contribute to geological confidence, resource definition and continuous improvement initiatives.

What are you going to do 

  • Provide senior geological support within an underground gold mining operation
  • Manage underground grade control activities, including face mapping, sampling and geological interpretation
  • Support development and production activities through accurate geological information and recommendations
  • Design and manage underground drilling programs, including diamond drilling and resource definition activities
  • Maintain and improve geological models, databases and reporting processes
  • Complete reconciliation activities and identify opportunities to improve ore recovery and minimise dilution
  • Collaborate with Mining, Planning and Technical Services teams to optimise underground mining performance
  • Provide geological guidance during development and stoping activities
  • Mentor junior geologists and support the development of geology technicians
  • Promote strong safety standards and continuous improvement across geological practices

Essential skills and knowledge 

  • Previous experience as a Senior Mine Geologist within an underground mining environment
  • Experience operating at Senior Mine Geologist level is mandotoray
  • Strong underground gold mining experience
  • Proven experience with underground grade control, face mapping and production geology
  • Experience with diamond drilling, geological modelling and resource definition
  • Practical Datamine experience within a mining environment
  • Strong understanding of reconciliation, dilution management and orebody interpretation
  • Ability to work autonomously and make sound operational decisions
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across technical and operational teams
  • Australian mining experience and unrestricted working rights
