Essential skills and knowledge
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from a recognized, accredited university.
- Minimum 5 years of post-graduate experience in mechanical engineering within a heavy continuous-process chemical plant, petrochemical facility, or refinery environment.
- Experience in the fertilizer industry (specifically Ammonia, Urea, or Nitrates manufacturing units) is strongly preferred.
- Proven track record of managing massive capital equipment replacement projects and participating in large-scale plant turnarounds.
- Language: Must possess excellent fluent English communication skills (both written and verbal) to draft technical engineering reports, lead meetings, and coordinate with international vendors.
- Software Competency: Advanced proficiency in PV Elite (pressure vessel design), CAESAR II (piping stress analysis) and NozzlePRO.
- Codes & Standards: Comprehensive working command of ASME Section VIII Div 1 & 2 (Pressure Vessels), ASME B31.3 (Process Piping), API 650/620 (Storage Tanks), and TEMA Standards (Heat Exchangers).
- Exceptional diagnostic, analytical, and troubleshooting capabilities for complex process plant problems.
- Clear leadership attributes with experience supervising external multi-disciplinary EPC contractors and vendor engineers.
