Introduction

On behalf of our client, Woodside Energy - a Global Energy Company, Brunel is presently sourcing a Health & Safety provide specialist Health & Safety Leadership, assurance and practical advisory support for decommissioning activities across offshore, marine and onshore environments. This will be an 18 month contract role located at the Melbourne Docklands.

What are you going to do 

Based onshore with regular site visits, you will support the planning, execution and close-out of decommissioning activities through risk management, contractor assurance, field verification, regulatory engagement and workforce safety initiatives.

  • Provide Health & Safety support across offshore, marine and onshore decommissioning activities
  • Verify critical controls, contractor compliance and closure of actions
  • Support incident investigations, reporting and lessons learned
  • Conduct field inspections and assurance activities
  • Facilitate HAZID, SIMOPS and risk assessment workshops
  • Support hazard identification, risk management and process safety initiatives
  • Assist with audits, inspections and regulatory engagements
  • Coach and influence teams to strengthen safety culture and leadership
  • Manage Health & Safety interfaces across contractors, regulators and project stakeholders
  • Embed Health & Safety requirements throughout project delivery and contract execution

Essential skills and knowledge 

  • Extensive Health & Safety experience in Energy, Resources, Construction, Marine or other high-hazard industries
  • Knowledge of risk management, process safety, contractor assurance, incident investigation and field leadership
  • Strong communication, facilitation and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and work independently
  • Willingness to travel to offshore, vessel, yard and disposal locations as required
  • Tertiary qualification in Health & Safety, Engineering, Science or a related discipline
  • Professional Certification or industry membership - desirable
  • Investigation, auditing or risk facilitation training
  • Decommissioning experience across offshore facilities, wells, subsea infrastructure, marine, dismantling, waste management or disposal activities
  • Experience with safety cases, regulator engagement and late-life asset transitions
