Introduction

Reporting to the Construction and Installation Division Manager, the Head of Transportation, Installation & Hook-up is responsible for leading the NFXP Offshore Transportation, installation & Hook-up requirements for NFXP Topsides to ensure objectives are met within the approved scope, budget and schedule. And to ensure that all work is completed in accordance with safety and quality standards applicable.

Must be able to execute work both Onshore and Offshore as needed including rotational assignments as required.

Interfaces with Company Marine Warranty Surveyor.

Leads all Installation & Hook-up requirements of the Project, to ensure the technical objectives are met within the approved scope, budget and schedule.

Accountable for Topsides & STP transportation, Installation and hook-up work produced by the Project.

Interfaces with various project teams and departments on resolving related issues that require effective communication, initiative, flexibility and an ability to induce collaboration.

What are you going to do 

  • Provide demonstrable competency and previous experience to advise, make recommendations and leads as the Project Focal Point regarding the following Project transportation, installation and hook-up analysis; including loadout, transportation, installation and hook-up; Is responsible for, yard mooring and transportation barge(s) ballast, sea fastening, tow stability, offshore mooring(s), installation lift and positioning, vessel impact and general marine operations;
  • The Head of Transportation, Installation & Hook-up shall be expected to provide complete competency and be fully conversant with the analysis of Topsides fatigue, field seismic conditions and potential related issues;
  • Inspection and audit of Marine vessels, including vessel suitability for work scope(s) including liaising with the Marine Warranty Surveyor (MWS);
  • Focal point at site, for implementing safety leadership and safe execution of the work and assist the Construction & Installation Manager in executing Project responsibilities;
  • Manage the blasting & flooding of the barge, Offshore transportation, installation & hook-up requirements of the Project, to ensure the technical objectives are met within the approved scope, budget, schedule and ensure technical interfaces with Project PMT, Site PMT, MWS and Contractors are managed effectively;
  • Support external interfaces with RLIC, other operators and schedule and arrange technical support to shareholders;
  • Lead, monitor, approve, contractor and installation & hook-up work; ensure contractor design documents and other submittals are reviewed and approved in accordance with the EPC contract requirements; Review, comment and approve the contractor and company readiness requirements for Installation and hook up;
  • Ensure technical aspects of the Risk Management Plan are managed effectively and review and approve design changes, coordinate all onshore and installation changes specification revisions and exceptions in accordance with the Project Management of Change (PMOC) processes;
  • Manage the training of employees and ensure they are up to date, and all equipment is maintained to a high standard; Coordinate with Business Support Specialist readiness and mobilization of company personnel for Offshore phase;
  • Follow up on the punch list raised by COMPANY Marine or MWS.

Essential skills and knowledge 

  • Preferred Engineering Degree or relevant on the job experience;
  • Extensive Offshore experience in a Supervisory Role;
  • Required to have offshore survival certificate and be able to pass an offshore medical evaluation;
  • OPITO certification is considered a plus;
  • Recommended 10+ years of experience in discipline with at least 8 years demonstrated senior engineering, installation and hook up experience in similar Topside major capital projects;
  • Offshore experience with EPC contractors, sub-contractors and vendors involved in the oil and gas industry;
  • Worldwide experience with contractors in particular those involved in the Offshore LNG production facilities;
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on teamwork and the ability to communicate and interact within a PMT;
  • Application and in-depth knowledge of stakeholder specifications and a working knowledge of Industry standards;
  • A high level of proficiency in written and spoken English;
  • Computer literacy involving the regular use of professional office applications and some technical applications;
  • Ability to work on or be based on a platform or vessel.
