Introduction
- Responsible for overseeing Onshore Piping Engineering Team and Contractor in delivery of all aspects of Piping design, equipment, materials, technical and execution definition, including planning and execution of detailed design, procurement, installation, testing and commissioning.
What are you going to do
- Provide Piping Engineering knowledge, design, quality assurance and expertise while managing the Piping team in accordance with project deliverables and execution schedule.
- Direct the preparation and stewardship of Piping Engineering scope of work in Contract, advise and recommend design procedures, processes, deliverables and alternative studies, as required, to optimize project cost and schedule.
- Interact with Engineering Team Management to complete multi-discipline engineering activities, ensuring alignment with the Engineering Division Manager on project engineering needs, objectives, and requirements.
- Accountable for ensuring execution of work is technically aligned and in compliance with Operations, Policies, Standards of Business Conduct and LNG Project Management System.
- Manage the technical attachments and scope descriptions for relevant contracts including the timely delivery of all purchase orders.
- Responsible for the Piping Engineering schedule and related milestones, provide data (narrative, charts, graphs, change management recommendations and recovery plans to address any schedule delays) for monthly progress and stewardship reporting.
- Accountable for sharing previous lessons learned and ensuring current lessons learned and captured and communicated to support review teams and future projects.
- Resolves field-initiated question related to Piping from Contractor/Subcontractor
- Reviews and approves material requisitions.
- Visits jobsite as required for exchange of information.
Essential skills and knowledge
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Ten (10) years' experience in Engineering roles, including six (6) years in the Oil & Gas Industry, and including two (2) years' experience in a supervisory or acting role, or oversight of contractor / subcontractors / service / vendor personnel.
- Experience as Senior Piping Engineer at a supervisory level with a broad knowledge of engineering execution including design standards, specifications, codes, safety criteria, onshore LNG facilities design, construction and operations.
- Experience with cryogenic piping systems design.
- Extensive experience with Oil & Gas Companies, EPC Contractors, Subcontractors, Vendors, or service companies involved in the Oil and Gas industry.
- Experienced and competent in managing across all phases of project execution including start up and handover and managing technical issues.
- Excellent written and spoken English skills.
- Strong organizational, planning and coordination skills.
- Strong technical, prioritization and management skills.
- Strong communication and team working skills.
- Good communication, influencing and interface skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of software programs, Navisworks, etc.
