Introduction

  • Responsible for overseeing the Electrical Energy Isolation and Lock-out and tagout (LOTO) compliance and implementation by the EPC Contractor and Subcontractors during the Pre-Commissioning & Commissioning activities throughout the EPCOnshore facility.
  • This primarily involves direct interaction with the EPC Contractor PTW and LOTO team as well as field auditing of the implementation during pre-comm/comm activities, SIMOPS and at handover of the facility to the start-up team.
  • Provides clear guidance to the EPC Contractor and facilitates resolution isolation/de-isolation activities during pre-comm/comm phase to meet project objectives and milestones.

What are you going to do 

  • Predominantly field based to assist and review electrical energy isolations and involvement of lock-out and tag-outs.
  • Provides Electrical expertise & guidance, to lead safe execution of the Electrical Pre-Comm and Commissioning scope of work in accordance with project deliverables and execution schedule.
  • Assist to develop, review and approve Electrical method statements, Job Safety Analysis , procedures, work packages, and provides supervision of pre-comm/comm scope of work by EPC contractor.
  • Guides EPC Contractor's Electrical pre-comm/comm activities and validating, implementation of safe electrical work practices, isolations and de-isolations; adherence to project objectives, requirements, specifications and adhere to Project SHES procedures
  • Actively participate in Tool Box Talks, Task Instructions and SHES related walkdowns
  • This position is responsible to ensure Electrical Energy Isolation/De-isolation and LOTO activities are implemented in compliance with Project SHES procedures for all Electrical Systems (at various voltage levels – 132kV, 66kV, 33kV, 11kV, 415V and others) and Electrical Equipment’s (like Generators, Transformers, Motors, AC UPS, DC UPS, VFDs, Switchgears and Distribution Boards) at various voltage levels.
  • Interfaces (pre-commissioning and commissioning) with existing operating facilities and other EPC Projects.

Essential skills and knowledge 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in engineering or equivalent.
  • 10 years’ experience as an Electrical Commissioning Engineer with a broad knowledge of commissioning planning and execution experience, for LNG liquefaction facilities or Oil & Gas facility.
  • Good knowledge and experience in Electrical safe practices, Permit to works systems, lock-out and tagout systems, and Good understanding of International Electrical Standards and best practices in the areas of electrical installations and testing.
  • Pre-commissioning & Commissioning experience and understanding of High and low voltage system (132kV to low voltage) Transformers, Switch boards, Lighting, Earthing, lightning protection, UPS, Battery Charger, heating systems and Cathodic Protection etc.
  • International project experience with Tier-1 EPC Contractors or Client, involved in the construction and commissioning of onshore production facilities (i.e. greenfield and brownfield work).
  • Demonstrated experience of sub-station control system, field electrical equipment’s like Generators, Transformers, Motors, and others Pre-commissioning and commissioning.
