Introduction

  • The main role of piping superintendent is to plan and manage fabrication and erection of piping for offshore structures to ensure safe and successful execution of CP Topsides piping fabrication scopes based on construction execution sequence and schedule.
  • He has to meet overall project objectives by insuring HSE, Quality, planning, effective and efficient delivery of Compression Project.

What are you going to do 

  • Ensuring adherence to all safety protocols and regulations during fabrication process.
  • Ensure that all piping is properly preserved as per approved project specs.
  • Share lessons learned and best practices with contractor.
  • Promote safe working environment by attending TBT, RA and being visible at site.
  • Direct all Piping installation and completion activity to ensure zero carry-over work upon leaving the yard
  • Manage and ensure successful execution of CP Topsides piping fabrication project components to meet prioritized objectives (Safety, Quality, Schedule, and others, as appropriate).
  • To supervise and control the activities of the Contractor/Subcontractors related to the piping fabrication, Mechanical Completion, Pre-commissioning and Commissioning to ensure that it complies with contractual requirements, project documentation and applicable International Standards.
  • To check the constructability aspects, as well as the compliance with all technical requirements, of the deliverables provided by the Engineering Team Contractor.
  • To review deviations to LNG construction standards for comments with Contractors / Subcontractors input, to deliver a consistent dossier (documents, materials, procured and fabricated items, pre-com/com dossiers, as built …) for the construction activities.
  • Identify any areas of concern with respect to progress and/or quality and recommend corrective actions as required.

Essential skills and knowledge 

  • Diploma
  • 8 years' experience of large offshore decks/topsides/living quarters in a Piping supervisory position
  • Experience with multinational teams
  • Experience of exotic, GRE and carbon steel piping systems
  • Good working knowledge and understanding of industry standard work practices and codes/standards.
  • Experience of spool fabrication and installation.
  • Experience of piping completions - line walks, hydrotesting, flushing/drying, re-instatement and flange management
  • CRA clad piping experience
  • Ability to handle site problems
  • Excellent track records in construction safety results
  • Good communication skills
  • Familiar with design standards, specifications, codes, and appropriate safety criteria related to major fabrication, transport, installation, brownfield execution, and hook-up, as applicable to the project scope.
  • Knowledge of execution methods and risks associated with sour gas and LNG production facilities.
  • Experience working in large scale operating organizations in Operations, Projects, Subsurface, etc.
