Introduction

We are currently seeking an experienced and safety-focused Toolpusher to oversee drilling operations across projects in Western Australia. Working on a balanced 2:2 FIFO/DIDO roster, you will provide frontline leadership to drilling crews while ensuring safe, efficient, and productive drilling operations across remote project sites.

What are you going to do 

Key Responsibilities:

* Oversee daily drilling operations involving VR-330 Directional Drilling Rigs and associated support equipment* Supervise and coordinate Drillers, Offsiders, mechanics, and field support personnel
* Ensure drilling production targets, utilisation, and operational KPIs are achieved* Manage rig moves, mobilisation, demobilisation, and shift coverage requirements
* Monitor drilling quality, hole accuracy, and operational performance* Promote and enforce company safety systems, site procedures, and legislative compliance
* Conduct field inspections, safety interactions, and crew performance reviews* Coordinate preventative maintenance schedules and repair priorities with maintenance teams
* Review and approve daily reports, pre-starts, timesheets, and operational documentation* Investigate incidents, hazards, and downtime events while implementing corrective actions
* Liaise with supervisors, engineers, site personnel, and management teams* Mentor and develop crew capability while supporting training and onboarding activities
* Maintain high standards of housekeeping, professionalism, and operational presentation

Essential skills and knowledge

To be successful in this role, you will ideally possess:

* Extensive drilling operations experience, including Toolpusher or senior supervisory responsibilities* Demonstrated experience with VR-330 Directional Drilling Rigs or similar HDD rigs
* Strong leadership capability with experience managing remote crews and field operations* Sound understanding of drilling environments within mining or oil & gas sectors
* Proven commitment to safety leadership and continuous improvement initiatives* Strong planning, coordination, and problem-solving abilities
* Current HR Driver's Licence (minimum requirement)* Competency using reporting systems, Microsoft Office, and operational documentation
* Ability to work a 2:2 FIFO/DIDO roster within remote Western Australia* Ability to pass pre-employment medical and drug & alcohol screening

Highly Regarded:

* Cert III or IV in Drilling Operations or relevant qualifications* Mechanical or diesel trade background
* Frontline Management or Supervisor qualifications* ICAM or incident investigation training
* Working at Heights and Confined Space certifications* First Aid Certificate
* Experience managing multiple rigs or contracts within drilling operations
