What are you going to do 

The Safety Advisor III will provide senior level Safety, Security, Health, and Environmental (SSHE) support for EPC construction and industrial project activities within an oil and gas environment. The role supports site leadership and contractor organizations to ensure compliance with company SSHE standards, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.

This position requires a strong field presence and the ability to work independently in active construction environments, including coordination with multicultural project teams and EPC contractors.

Key Responsibilities

* Provide daily SSHE support to project leadership and EPC contractor personnel during construction and commissioning activities

* Monitor field construction activities to ensure compliance with company safety standards, procedures, and regulatory requirements

* Participate in safety audits, field inspections, hazard identification activities, and corrective action tracking

* Develop, revise, and maintain safety standards, procedures, and documented work practices

* Review engineering and construction designs for compliance with company and industry safety requirements

* Support incident investigations, root cause analysis, and development of corrective actions

* Respond to emergency situations and provide technical safety guidance during and outside normal working hours as required

* Participate in toolbox meetings, safety observations, risk assessments, and contractor safety meetings

* Support implementation and improvement of contractor safety management programs

* Promote safety awareness and assist with development of safety education materials and presentations

* Interface with construction management, engineering teams, contractors, and operations personnel to support safe project execution

* Mentor junior safety personnel and provide guidance on SSHE expectations and performance

* Strong understanding of construction safety practices including: * Permit to Work
* Hot Work * Confined Space Entry
* Lockout/Tagout * Working at Heights
* Excavation Safety * SIMOPS
* Job Safety Analysis (JSA)

* Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in fast paced construction environments

* Strong communication and interpersonal skills with ability to work effectively across multicultural teams

* Proficient with Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

* Fluent English communication skills required

* LNG project experience

* Previous major operator project experience

* OSHA certifications or equivalent safety training

* Experience supporting startup, commissioning, and operational readiness activities

* Experience working in remote locations or rotational assignments

Work Environment

* Active construction and industrial field environment

* Extended walking, climbing stairs/ladders, and standing for long periods may be required

* Exposure to varying weather and environmental conditions

* Ability to travel and remain away from home for extended durations may be required

Essential skills and knowledge

* Bachelor's degree preferred in Safety, Engineering, Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene, or related discipline

* Demonstrated experience in construction safety roles within oil and gas, LNG, petrochemical, refinery, or heavy industrial environments

* Prior EPC project experience required

* Experience supporting field construction activities and contractor safety oversight

* Knowledge of OSHA regulations, industry safety standards, and contractor safety management systems

* Experience with incident investigation, hazard analysis, and risk mitigation processes
