Introduction

We are currently seeking an experienced and safety-focused Driller to join a growing drilling operations team in Western Australia. Working on a balanced 2:2 FIFO/DIDO roster, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of a VR-330 Directional Drilling Rig across remote drilling projects.

What are you going to do 

Key Responsibilities:

* Safely operate and manage daily drilling activities on a VR-330 Directional Drilling Rig* Lead and supervise Offsiders and support crew during shift operations
* Achieve production targets while maintaining operational and safety standards* Complete rig set-up, collaring, drilling, tramming, and relocation activities
* Monitor ground conditions and adjust drilling methods where required* Ensure correct use of drill strings, bits, tooling, compressors, and support equipment
* Conduct pre-start inspections and routine maintenance checks* Diagnose minor mechanical and hydraulic faults and coordinate repairs when required
* Maintain accurate drilling logs, shift reports, and handovers* Liaise with Supervisors, Engineers, and site personnel
* Promote and maintain strong safety standards, including JHAs, Take 5s, and site procedures* Mentor and support junior crew members and Offsiders
* Maintain high housekeeping standards across the rig and worksite

Essential skills and knowledge

To be successful in this role, you will ideally possess:

* Demonstrated experience operating VR-330 Directional Drilling Rigs or similar HDD rigs* Current HR Driver's Licence (minimum requirement)
* Strong understanding of drilling operations within mining or oil & gas environments* Proven commitment to safe work practices and leadership on site
* Ability to troubleshoot operational issues in remote environments* Physically fit and capable of working in demanding outdoor conditions
* Ability to work a 2:2 FIFO/DIDO roster in remote Western Australia* Ability to pass pre-employment medical and drug & alcohol screening

Highly Regarded:

* Cert II or III in Drilling Operations* Mechanical aptitude or trade background
* Loader, Forklift, or Telehandler tickets* Working at Heights certification
* Confined Space Entry certification* First Aid Certificate
* Previous Leading Hand or Supervisory experience
