About this role: Project Site ODC Lead

  • Management of respective NGH Project Site ODC Logistics related activities;
  • Project Site related ODC Logistics Management (Discharge, Heavy Haulage from Port to site, timely unloading at site by Construction, return of rented equipment such as stools, H beams and saddles to Heavy Haulier);
  • Coordinate the interface between the DTV based Logistics team and the Site based ODC Logistics Function;
  • Verification of compliance with the Site ODC logistics requirements specified;
  • Verification of capability and competence of site ODC logistics staff and subcontractors employed; for the execution of the proposed Site ODC Logistics scope and related activities;
  • Ensure Logistics Service Provider Compliance;
  • Attend OXAGON – APEC monthly working group meetings;
  • Review ODC transport dossiers, transport drawings, stow plans, lashing designs and associated calculations;
  • Prepare internal discharge reports. Prepare discharge damage reports (if any);
  • Participation in engineering model reviews as Naval architecture SME;
  • Participation in fabrication yard meetings to review loadout preparations;
  • Participation in meetings with shipowners’ technical representatives;
  • Lead meetings with Heavy hauliers to ensure proposed methodology is technically sound;
  • Undertake periodical route surveys of routes from Port to site;
  • Review vessel classification, drydocking and crane certifications;
  • Inspect all Heavy Haulage equipment & securing materials to ensure it is fit for purpose;
  • Liaise with the Site Construction team to ensure site is ready to receive ODC cargo onto foundations and/or temporary laydown area, including availability of suitable cranes and stools;
  • Attend ODC discharges as APEC SME;
  • Survey cargo upon discharge to ensure zero damage;
  • Ensure ISPS compliance;
  • Liaison with Oxagon Port authorities and vessel master/ship owner/vessel agent to ensure timely berthing of vessels and discharge;
  • Providing assurance to internal customers and contractors that all requirements are fully executed / fulfilled and on schedule;
  • Complying with project logistics performance targets and indicators, and subsequently maintaining records, analyzing and reporting of the respective subcontractor’s performance;
  • Manage coordination with OXAGON Port and site where activities clash or create a bottleneck;
  • Maintain a strong HSE awareness and technical safety in Logistics. Promote safe working practice within the teams at all work sites;
  • Provide support to subcontractors to ensure that common Logistics and contractual goals and objectives are achieved;
  • Manage consistent application of the Company Logistics standards and compliance requirements across the Logistics Subcontractors;
  • Capture Project Site ODC Logistics Learning and best practices and share with regional Logistics staff;
  • Participation in, or leading investigation of Site ODC Logistics related incidents in the execution of the project related scope;
  • Liaise compliantly and with integrity with Saudi authorities to deal with project site ODC logistics related issues;
  • Timely operational Site ODC Logistics reporting (weekly & monthly);
  • Attend monthly progress meetings on site in NEOM and OXAGON when required by management;
  • Highlight any risks to achieving timely delivery of ODC materials and equipment;
  • Ensure that all ODC materials & Equipment are delivered to site, ahead of the ROS date;
  • Promote and maintain strong Teamwork and Respect with/for all parties;
  • Maintain a strong EPC culture within the project (appreciation and effective communication with the respective parties – Logistics, construction, projects);
  • Ensure that the complete correct list of equipment and materials is provided for delivery planning purposes including all dimensions and weights;
  • Induction of all Site ODC Logistics team members to the project on objectives, scope requirements, specification & code compliance, and technical contract obligations;
  • Ensure Logistics compliance with company IMS and procedures;
  • Sound understanding of multi-discipline environment.

Requirements

  • Degree: Naval Architecture;
  • 10 years’ experience or more working for Tier1 Project Logistics companies, EPC Contractors, Marine companies, Classification Societies mandatory;
  • Naval Architecture degree or master’s ticket mandatory;
  • Experience in a lead role for 2 years or more;
  • Experience with capital projects mandatory;
  • Experience with complex Marine and Road transport operations for Super Heavy Lifts mandatory;
  • Out of Gauge cargo transportation mandatory;
  • Project management experience;
  • Proficiency in CAD and related software;
  • Fluency in English (written and spoken) mandatory.
