About this role: Power Electrical/Electronics Engineer

On behalf of our client, a dynamic Global High Profile Energy Group, Brunel is seeking a Power Electrical/Electronics Engineer to join their team on a 6 month contract at their Redcliffe Office.

Key accountabilities will include:

  • Design and deliver Power Electrical / Electronics systems for Heavy Mobile Equipment (HME) / Rail Locomotives Green Fleet Development projects in a safe, timely and sustainable manner
  • Review and validation of various Power Electronics engineering designs and associated components
  • Providing technical assistance on Power Electrical / Electronics Systems related works being carried out
  • Develop technical specifications to meet project specific objectives
  • Review / mark up engineering drawings, documents, specifications and scopes
  • Resolution of technical and design issues
  • Proactively deliver on the company’s stretch targets
  • Ensure compliance to the project management process by project owners
  • Liaising with a range of key stakeholders on all technical aspects of projects
  • Providing regular updates to the Principal Electrical Engineer including work progress, risks, and priorities

Requirements

Qualifications and skills required:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Power Electrical/Electronics Engineering
  • Electrical, Mechatronics, Electronics Engineering degree, preferably a qualification in Power Electrical/Electronics Engineering
  • Experience with Rail Locomotives / Heavy mobile equipment is highly advantageous
  • Experience with operation of DC/DC converters, inverters, high powered EV chargers and VSDs
  • Experience in designing high voltage DC power systems with experience in electrical noise filtration is advantageous
  • Exposure with automotive industry comms protocols, such as CAN bus and J1939
  • Knowledge of standards and regulations associated with electrical design, installation, and testing
  • Proven ability to work with diverse stakeholders and in multidiscipline teams
  • High commitment to safety
