About this role: Mechanical Technician - FIFO Ex Perth - 8:6

We are currently seeking experienced and qualified Mechanical Technicians to join our team. The selected candidates will be responsible for carrying out routine and major mechanical maintenance activities on all power generation assets. This role requires FIFO from Perth, located in the Pilbara region on the traditional lands of the Eastern Guruma and Yindjibarndi peoples.

As a Mechanical Technician, your main focus will be on performing repairs and inspections on all power generation assets, prioritizing safety, quality, and efficiency. This position requires a high level of technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and a strong commitment to safety. Experience in a fast-paced environment and excellent communication skills are also essential.

  • Executing routine and major mechanical maintenance activities on all power generation assets according to the maintenance plan
  • Operating and maintaining gas/diesel reciprocating engines and electrical power generation equipment
  • Operating and maintaining all mechanical Balance of Plant equipment
  • Ensuring all work is carried out safely, adhering to weekly plans, and avoiding disruptions to the power supply
  • Ensuring compliance with statutory regulations regarding classified plants, gas fittings, and the environment
  • Following SAP maintenance strategies, planning work, and minimizing reactive maintenance
  • Adhering to site operations procedures and policies

Requirements

  • Recognized mechanical trade certificate in Australia
  • Strong commitment to safety
  • Experience in operating and maintaining Gas/Diesel Reciprocating Engines & Balance of Plant
  • Experience in the power generation industry
  • Experience and understanding of Work Management Processes & Practices
  • Desirable experience with SAP at Tradesperson Level
  • Desirable experience in operating and maintaining Solar Gas Turbines (e.g., LM6000 Gas Turbines) & Balance of Plant
  • Desirable experience with routine servicing of gas systems for Type B gas appliances (if applicable)
  • Desirable Supervised Gas Fitter Qualification
  • Full Working Rights in Australia
  • Ability to obtain a National Police Clearance
